We want your ideas!
We are planning to set up a performing arts club for students, which will include a choir, dance group or theatre group.
Which of these ideas would students like most? How can we improve the facilities that are already there?
Send us a report and we will make a decision.

The director of the college where you study is concerned about security, and is planning to either put security cameras in the college or install new devices for students to lock up their bicycles. As there is not much money to spend, the director has asked students to write a report assessing the value of both ideas and recommending which one most students would find useful.

The director of your college has asked you to write a report on a visit you made to a self study centre at a local university. You should explain how successful it has been and recommend whether or not your college should have one.

Have you been to see a musical, a concert, a circus, a comedian or any other kind of live show recently? If so, write us a review, telling us what you did and did not enjoy about the show and whether you would recommend it to other people.

ENVIRONMENT

Your class has been discussing environmental issues, including the problems associated with the presence of too many cars on the roads and the benefits of using more responsible means of transport. As a follow up, your teacher has asked you to write a report about the public transportation services available in your area. You should mention what is available, what is not available, and give recommendations for improving your local public transport facilities.

You are a member of a local environmental group which is part of a larger international organisation. You have been asked to write a report for the international organisers, explaining what your group has done in the past year and making some recommendations about what could be done in the near future.

HOLIDAYS

A group of elderly tourists will be spending a morning in your town as part of a ten-day tour of the region. The local tourist office has asked you to write a report for the group leader, suggesting wais in which the tourists might spend the morning. You should give advice an sightseeing and shopping, as well as information on where they could have lunch

A friend who works for an international travel agency has asked you to write a report about various tourist attractions in the place where you live. The report will assist travel agents in other countries to give helpful advice about your area to English-speaking tourists.

You have had a class discussion about a future class trip for a day and talked about places that your class could go for that trip. Your teacher has now asked you to write a report on possible places to go. You should include information on why the places you mention would be good to visit and how a trip to these places could be organized.

CITIES

The local council is opening a new community centre for youths. Basketball, music lessons, and cookery have been suggested as possible activities for the centre. Mr. Jones, who is a member of the council, has asked you to talk to your friends and then write a report to the council about how popular each activity would be and then make a recommendation about which activities should be offered.

What are the latest fashions where you are?
We’re looking for people to send us reports on the latest fashions among young people in the places where they live. You can tell us about fashions in music, in clothes, in what people buy, in behaviour or anything else you want to describe. And give your opinions on these fashions too. We’ll publish some of the reports so that our readers can compare fashions in different places.

SPORTS

You work part-time at your local gym, which as decided to invest $20,000 in new equipment and facilities. Your manager has asked you to write a report about the gym’s existing facilities and say where you think the money should be spent.

A group of American students is coming to stay in your town and their group leader has asked you to write a report on the sports facilities there. Mention the main sports that young people do in your town and where they usually do them. Then recommend the best places for the group to go to do sport, giving reasons for your recommendations.
